General comments:
Widespread resident.

Adults of this species in Hertfordshire regularly fly from May until the start of September. This is at odds with some standard texts that give it as 'single-brooded flying in July and August'. The possibility that May/June examples are misidentified Foxglove Pugs has been eliminated and does not apply - though the inexperienced should be aware of the possibility.
